California man arrested on drug charges

 A 45-year-old California man has been sentenced in Nodaway County on drug charges.

Matthew Jay Schurle of Canoga Park, California was found guilty of delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance as a prior offender and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia as a prior offender.

According to Nodaway County Prosecuting Attorney, Robert Rice, Schurle was ordered to serve 11 years in confinement, 10 years with the Missouri Department of Corrections and one year in the Nodaway County Jail. Schurle was also to pay two thousand dollars in fines.
